"International Workshop on Teaching Turkish to Bilinguals" was hosted by our University
The International Workshop on Teaching Turkish to Bilinguals, organized in cooperation with the Turkish-German University and the Turkish Maarif Foundation in order to evaluate the processes of teaching Turkish to bilinguals in Europe in various dimensions and to share the results with the relevant institutions and the public, started at our University on 22 May 2024 with the participation of representatives of relevant institutions, education consultants and field experts.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız was a guest on the Günaydın Hayat program broadcast on TRT Türk channel on May 21, 2024. He gave information about the "International Workshop on Teaching Turkish to Bilinguals", which will be held on 22-23 May 2024, in cooperation with the Turkish Maarif Foundation and hosted by our university, with the participation of relevant institution representatives, education consultants and field experts.
TGU Career Summit 2024 Introduced Our Students to Career Opportunities
TGU Career Summit 2024 (TCS'24), held on our Campus between 14-16 May 2024, once again opened its doors to our students who want to achieve their career goals. The events, organized with the joint work of our Industrial Relations Coordination Office and 19 student clubs, brought together our students and the leading companies and experts of the business world. Our students had the chance to learn about career opportunities and establish business contacts by communicating one-on-one with experts and company officials at the conferences and stands set up during the events. The event guided our students in their career planning through sessions and panels, and also offered them the opportunity to get to know the dynamics and expectations of the business world closely.
TAU Career Summit '24 Continues at Full Speed
TAU Career Summit 2024 (TKZ'24), which was held on our campus on 14 - 15 - 16 May 2024 with the joint contributions of the Industrial Relations Coordinatorate and 19 student clubs, hosts valuable companies and names with various sessions and panels. The events kicked off on May 14, 2024, with opening speeches by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız, and our General Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Ferit Küçükay. The summit continued with talks by Erdem Alptekin, R&D and IT Director of Siemens Turkey, Prof. Dr. Cenk Yaltırak, Ferhat Şengül, Section Manager of Bosch Concurrent Engineering Center, Dr. Taylan Terzioğlu from PERI Turkey, and Ergün Koru, Purchasing Director of Karsan. On May 15, 2024, the TAU Career Summit 2024 featured additional speakers including Zafer Erkanar, Deputy General Manager of Deutsche Messe - Hannover Fairs Turkey, Cansu Cengiz Yavuz, MB Trucks & Powertrain Subsidiary Regres Group Manager at Mercedes-Benz Türk, Fatma Sarı, Employer Branding Junior Specialist at Sun Express Airlines, Av. Bige Yücel from Siemens, Av. Bulut Girgin from Gen Temizer, Assoc. Dr. Muhammed Demirel from Istanbul University, Av. Müge Kurtbeyoğlu Uzgör from Dündar Law Firm, Betül Merve Erganiş, Procurement Service Center Group Manager at Mercedes-Benz Automotive, and Melike Yıldırım, Recruitment Manager for Multilingual Operations at Teleperformance Human Resources. The events, held in a festive atmosphere, also featured stands where students had the opportunity to gather information from participating companies and establish career connections. Offering significant opportunities for career planning, the TAU Career Summit 2024 will continue with its events on May 16, 2024.

Symposium "New Political Challenges for Germany, Turkey and the EU - 2024" was hosted by our University
8th Cologne University and Turkish-German University Joint Conference was hosted by our University on May 10, 2024. The conference started with the speeches of Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Mehmet Kemal Bozay, our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız and General Coordinator Prof. Dr. Ferit Küçükay. In his speech, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Mehmet Kemal Bozay emphasized the importance of "European Union, Germany and Turkey" relations. After their speeches, our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız presented his gift to Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Mehmet Kemal Bozay.

Mehmet Kemal Bozay, who is the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, made a courtesy visit to our Rector Prof. Cemal Yıldız in his office. Within the scope of the visit hosted by our Rector Prof. Cemal Yıldız and our General Coordinator Prof. Ferit Küçükay, our Rector Prof. Cemal Yıldız informed the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs about the international activities of our university. The visit ended with a tour of the campus and Mevlüde Genç Library.

A cooperation protocol was signed between our university and Anadolu Agency at a ceremony held on our campus on May 6, 2024.
Visit to our Rector from International Balkan University
International Balkan University Rector Prof. Dr. Lütfi Sunar and Rector Advisor Prof. Dr. Serdar Serdaroğlu paid a courtesy visit to our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız in his office. Within the scope of the visit hosted by our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız and our General Coordinator Prof. Dr. Ferit Küçükay, cooperation opportunities between the two universities as well as the education and research studies of both universities were discussed.
2nd Datev Training Certificate Ceremony
Students who succeeded in the DATEV Training organized in cooperation with TAU-SEM / ADDWORX received their certificates at a ceremony.
Our university was accredited by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK).
Rector of our University Prof. Dr. Cemal YILDIZ, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Aysel UZUNTAŞ and Quality Management Unit Responsible Lecturer Dr. Burcu AYHAN attended the YÖKAK 2024 International Quality Assurance and Accreditation Conference held in Ankara on 25-26 April. Within the scope of this conference, accreditation certificates were presented to universities that successfully completed the institutional accreditation process. At the ceremony, YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol ÖZVAR and YÖKAK President Prof. Dr. Ümit KOCABIÇAK presented the institutional accreditation certificate to Prof. Dr. Cemal YILDIZ, Rector of our University.
April 23rd Enthusiasm on our Campus
April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children's Day was celebrated with enthusiasm on April 22, 2024, with events organized by the teachers and students of Turkish-German University Child Care Center on our University campus. As part of the events, a colorful April 23rd march was organized by students on campus. Then, a moment of silence was observed in front of the Atatürk bust on the campus followed by the National Anthem. After the ceremony, the choir consisting of the students at University Child Care Center performed a special show. A kite workshop was organized specifically for the students of the Child Care Center in the campus event area and the program was completed with a picnic.
The Academic Boarding Ceremony of Our Newly Titled Professors Was Held
The Academic Boarding Ceremony, at which Mesut Serdar Çekin, one of the academicians of the Faculty of Law at our university, was conferred the title of Professor; Ebru Turhan, one of our academicians from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Esra Yiğit and Mustafa Tolga Özer, one of our academicians from the Faculty of Law, were conferred the title of Associate Professor; Aslı İşler Kaya, Zeynep Sabahat Yunt and Betül Uluca from the Faculty of Science, Ayhan Sarı and Zehra Çankaya Bayraklı from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Başak Kaptan Şiray and Hüsnü Yavuz Aytekin from the Faculty of Culture and Social Sciences, Derya Nur Kayacan and Eyüp Kaan from the Faculty of Law were conferred the title of Assistant Professor, were performed on March 27, 2024. Our Rector Prof. Cemal Yıldız. Our Rector Attended the Iftar Program of the President of HEC
The President of HEC Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar met with the rectors of universities in Istanbul at the iftar program hosted by Marmara University. In the program in which our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız also participated, ideas were exchanged on improving the quality of the higher education system.
Chess Tournament was organised at our university
The trophy and medal presentation ceremony of the Chess Tournament organised by the Department of Health, Culture and Sports was held with the participation of our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Aysel Uzuntaş. Within the scope of the tournament, which attracted great interest from our students, Yunus Emre Erdoğan came first, Kaan Özden came second and Kaan Koçluk came third. The ranked competitors received their trophies, medals and awards from our Rector Prof. Dr. Cemal Yıldız. The ceremony ended after the photo shoot.

Digitalpark Technocity Ataşehir Campus Opened
The opening ceremony of the Turkish-German University and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University Technology Development Zone-Digitalpark Technocity Ataşehir Campus was held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 with the participation of Mehmet Fatih Kacır, the Minister of Industry and Technology, Davut Gül, Istanbul Governor, Nusret Bayraktar, Digitalpark Technocity Chairman of the Board of Directors, our Rector Prof. Cemal Yıldız, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University Rector Prof. Yusuf Yılmaz, Tahsin Engin, Digitalpark Technocity General Manager and many guests. At the ceremony, which started with a moment of silence and the National Anthem, the promotional film of Digitalpark Teknokent was screened. Then, the opening ceremony program continued with protocol speeches.
Res. Assist. Melih Pehlivan received the Special Prize for the Best Thesis of the Faculty of Humanities and Cultural Studies at the University of Passau
Melih Pehlivan, graduate of the double degree program Intercultural Management-International Cultural and Business Studies at the Turkish-German University and the University of Passau, and research assistant at the Department of Cultural and Communication Studies, was awarded the special prize of the Sparkasse Passau for the best thesis at the Academic Celebration of the Faculty of Humanities and Cultural Studies of the University of Passau on February 9, 2024 for his thesis Eine junge Universität in Istanbul - Auswirkungen der Türkisch-Deutschen Universität auf ihr Umfeld und die Integration dieser in die urbane Gesellschaft (A Young University in Istanbul - The Impact of the Turkish-German University on its Environment and its Integration into Urban Society).
